Jacobs Jr. worked as an investment banker. Lebanon. She is of French German Irish Scottish and Scottish origins. Jacobs was the daughter of a family who owned Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery, established by the family in Erie Pennsylvania 1847. John Martin Magenau Jr. held the position of President and CEO from 1978 until the brewery's closure in 1978. Jacobs attended the Pittsburgh Playhouse on Saturdays to learn acting lessons. When she was 8 she began studying acting. Mt. Lebanon High School, in 2000 Jacobs relocated to New York City New York to attend in the Juilliard School where she was an active member of Drama Division's Group 33. The school awarded her a bachelor's degree in 2004 following graduating in Lebanon High School.
